karate demoHis self-defense seminars are designed with the idea that techniques must be committed to muscle memory in order to be effective. Simply learning self-defense techniques without practicing them, one cannot be expected to utilize them in the confusion and high-stress environment of an actual physical confrontation.

You will learn practical self-defense techniques that also function as safe and effective exercises that promote improved strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. The exercises of this program, if practiced regularly, promote an improved self-confidence that is your greatest strength in a self-defense situation.

Self-Defense Tips

  • Move side to side if the situation has become physical.
  • Run at every possible chance.
  • If you are caught fight only until you have another opportunity to run.
  • Never fight to keep possessions! If the attacker only wants your valuables, give them up and give them up fast.

  • If you think you are being followed abruptly cross to the other side of the street and reverse direction. If the person follows you to the other side of the street. RUN!
  • Walk facing oncoming traffic. This makes it easier to see cars approaching as well as making it harder for a car to stop and pull you into the car.
  • Always keep your head up and pay attention to your surroundings.
  • Never wear headphones or read a book while walking down the street.
  • If a person asks you for directions always stay two arms length away.
  • Don’t come closer to look at a map or directions! This is the oldest trick in the book.
  • If you wear a purse with a shoulder strap, be prepared to let it go.
  • Never hang on to your purse if someone tries to grab it.
  • Avoid alleys, dark streets, empty lots, and buildings (that is where criminals wait).
  • Avoid being on the street alone if you are upset or under the influence of alcohol.
  • In Your Car, Check your surroundings before getting in or out of your car.
  • Lock your doors immediately upon entering vehicle (before placing key in ignition).
  • If you think you are being followed DON’T GO HOME! Go to the police station or to a safe place where you can call the police.
  • Choose your parking spaces strategically.
  • Park in well-lighted and heavily traveled areas if possible.
  • Try not to park next to a van as you can be pulled through the sliding door easily.
  • Try not to park next to a vehicle with somebody in it.
  • If you are grabbed as you are entering your car, throw your keys!
  • This way they can’t force you in your own car and drive off.
